I keep this bedside and work the puzzles before dropping off to sleep. They're very effective for that... no drama, no dialog, no plot so in minutes my mind is pretty well clear of stuff that might keep me from falling asleep. When I get snoozy, I set it down and am asleep in minutes.WRT the quality of the Sudoku I'd say very high. Three levels of difficulty -- I ignore the easy -- and a variety of formats make these fairly challenging, esp. the Sum format. A hard Sum puzzle might take me 4-6 hours (over a dozen or more nights to solve) whereas a hard Classic might be 1+ hours over 3 or 4 nights. I usually can complete a medium Classic in 15-30 minutes -- 1 or 2 nights.
I also usually buy two; The second one may sit on the shelf for a year or more but then get taken along on vacation, a visit to the DMV, or even a long soak in a hot bath.

These are the best for Sudoku lovers. I get a new one every year.
Confusing, cluttered pages, unappealing in every way. Last year I had a Page-a-Day boxed calendar that was perfect, and I thought that was the one I was ordering again.
I have been buying this for years. It is a daily ritual. It feels like the price has gone up - I generally wouldn't pay this much just for sudoku. But I love this calendar. I like that the styles of games vary from day to day and so do the difficulty levels. I sometimes get so excited I do a few days in advance. Then I have to wait. (
My husband just mentioned he had already bought next year's calendar, one each. We both do sudoku puzzles and it's a different variety each day, easy to hard. We travel quite a bit so when we get home there's two or three weeks of puzzle to rip off. It's the perfect size to put in my purse or my husband sticks them in his pocket to work on when at the doctor or elsewhere.
